Who We Are
The Southwest NAHRO Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3), was established to assist residents of low income rental housing developments and affordable rental housing programs participants, and the children of persons employed Public Housing, Section 8, and Community Development Agencies who are members of NAHRO. The organization is dedicated to improving and enhancing the development and redevelopment of the housing opportunities to those families of low to moderate income within the Southwest Region. The Scholarship Foundation is committed to providing scholarships to deserving high school students who come from families who are public housing residents or who are receiving HUD Section 8 assistant to alleviate the cost of their higher educations.

Sam McKay Donation
The Sam McKay Memorial Commissioners Scholarship was created to honor Sam’s commitment and dedication to the Commissioners and Commissioners’ Training Programs in the Louisiana Housing Council, Southwest NAHRO and the national organization. The scholarship is awarded as a part of Southwest NAHRO’S Scholarship Program, based on competitive academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement. More>
